The material of the future, made and unmade by microbes.
Impermanent 01
Vivomer is a completely vegan, compostable material, made with a little help from friendly microbes. Once disposed of, it will fully break down in any soil and marine environment, leaving behind zero microplastics.
Personalised 02
Our material is your packaging. So we’ve designed Vivomer to fit seamlessly into any brand profile. By incorporating a range of natural dyes into Vivomer, we can customise your products without compromising on sustainability.
Compatible 03
Vivomer is a performance material designed for the skincare industry. So we’ve made sure it’s food contact certified, shelf-stable in storage and works with both water-based and oil-based emulsions.

Our team of biologists, material scientists and engineers have been working on a proudly impermanent packaging solution. Designing, refining and manufacturing a new material that’s beautiful, functional and can be put back into the earth once disposed of.
It all starts in a cell. In nature, some micro-organisms have the ability to build up granules.
We place these microbes in a fermentation unit to make the granules grow.
We then extract the granules and turn these into pellets.
These pellets are mixed with natural pigments to develop bespoke colours.
These coloured pellets are then melted down into forms using existing equipment.
Our solutions will fit into existing manufacturing lines and are formula compatible.
We’re committed to supporting all personal care businesses in transitioning to a waste-free world through the adoption of our naturally-derived materials and packaging. We want to build a world where sustainability isn’t a choice, but a given.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals is one framework that serves as a marker to track how we can work with corporations, governments, brands and businesses to move towards a better and more resilient and regenerative world.
We’re collaborating with nature to turn microbes into an innovative material that can be put back into the earth. Behind every step towards material innovation, we continue to ask ourselves more questions to ensure we have future-proofed our material, for brands and businesses alike.
